Ellsworth Girls Soccer Shuts Out GSA 3-0

The Ellsworth Girls Soccer Team traveled to Blue Hill on Monday, September 9th and beat George Stevens Academy 3-0 in the Battle of the Eagles.

Ellsworth scored with 4 minutes remaining in the 1st Half as Hannah Richardson found the back of the net, with an assist from Sammi Carter.

Ellsworth made it 2-0 with 2:18 elapsed in the back of the net, when Julie Mattson scored.

The final goal came with 8:45 remaining, when Paige Sawyer put in her own shot, after it was initially saved by the keeper for GSA Vanessa Sherwood.

GSA had 1 shot on goal. Kayla Duhaime and Autumn Paul were in net for Ellsworth.

Ellsworth improves to 1-1 on the season, and will play host to Hermon on Wednesday, September 11th at 6PM.

GSA falls to 0-2 and will play at MDI on Wednesday, September 11th at 6PM.
