The Ellsworth Girls Soccer Team played host to the Caribou Vikings on Friday afternoon, September 6th and the Eagles will be reliving this game, as they fell to the Vikings in double overtime 2-1.

Addi Laslie put Ellsworth ahead 1-0 with an assist from Paige Sawyer.

The score remained 1-0 until Edie Shea tied the score with 1:52 remaining in regulation.

The 2 teams battled through an initial 5 minute overtime, and the score was still tied 1-1 going into double overtime.

It looked like the game would end in a draw, but Caribou notched the winning goal with 21 seconds in double overtime.

Ellsworth starts the season at 0-1 and will play at GSA on Monday, September 9th at 4PM.

Caribou is 1-0 and will play host to Presque Isle Tuesday, September 10th at 7PM.
