The Ellsworth Girls Soccer Team took the ride up I-95 to Caribou and did more than just enjoy the foliage, beating the Caribou Vikings 3-2 in overtime! The Eagles avenged their opening game loss to Caribou when the Vikings won 2-1 in Ellsworth

The game was scoreless through the 1st Half, when Caribou scored 1st, with Edie Shea tallying the goal with an assist from Araya Caverhill 4:10 elapsed in the 2nd Half.

Ellsworth came right back, with Sierra Andrews scoring 6:30 later, with an assist from Lexi Rossi.

Caribou took the lead 2-1 when Shea and Caverhill again teamed up with 26:57 left in regulation.

When Emma Whitney was tripped in the box, Ellsworth was awarded a penalty kick and Addi Laslie buried the ball in the back of the net, to tie the score 2-2 with 16:43 in regulation.

The score stayed that way through the end of regulation. In overtime, Sierra Andrews took a cross from Paige Sawyer, heading the ball into the net to give Ellsworth the 3-2 win with 2:26 left in overtime!

Kayla Duhaime was in goal for Ellsworth while Sage Dubay was in goal for Caribou

Ellsworth is now 5-4 and will play host to Presque Isle on Tuesday, October 8th at 5:30.

Caribou is 2-4-3 and plays host to Brewer on Friday, October 11th at 5PM
