The Ellsworth Girls Basketball Team remained perfect on the 2023-24 season, beating John Bapst 72-30 at Katsiaficas Gymnasium in Ellsworth on Friday, January 19th.

Ellsworth led 16-7 at the end of the 1st Quarter. John Bapst cut the lead to 2 points midway int he 2nd Quarter before Ellsworth exploded, outscoring the Crusaders 26-10 to take a 42-17 lead at the Half. Ellsworth led 60-26 at the end of the 3rd Quarter.

Ellsworth was led by Grace Jaffray with a game-high 25 points. Abby Radel had 13 points and Lily Bean finished with 12 points. The Eagles sank 7 3-pointers on the night. Elizabeth Boles had 3 3's, with Bean draining 2 3-pointers and Radel and Jaffray each sinking 1 3-pointer. Ellsworth was 13-15 from the free throw line.

John Bapst was led by Claire Gaetani who muscled her way to 24 points, including 3 3-pointers. The Crusaders were 3-5 from the free throw line.

Ellsworth, now 13-0 will play at Hermon on Tuesday, January 23rd at 7 p.m.
