The Ellsworth Girls Basketball Team rallied in the 4th Quarter to beat the Caribou Vikings 53-46 to split their Aroostook County Weekend, on Saturday, January 26th in Caribou.

Caribou jumped out to a 14-10 lead in the 1st Quarter. Abbi Robbins and Taylor LaBreck each had 3 points for Caribou while Kimmy Susi, Alexis Rodriguez, Paige Espling and Sage Dubay each had 2 points. For Ellsworth, Kylie Robidoux and Kayla Duhaime each had 4 points while Jocelyn Jordan had 2 points

Ellsworth outscored Caribou 9-7 in the 2nd Quarter to cut Caribou's lead to 21-19 at the end of the 1st Half. In the 2nd Quarter Trinity Montigny had 5 points with a 3-pointer and Robidoux 4 points. For Caribou LaBreck had 3 points, Espling 2 poitns and Rodriguez and Dubay were each 1-2 from the free throw line.

In the 3rd Quarter both Ellsworth and Caribou each scored 16 points, and the Vikings held a 37-35 lead at the end of the 3rd Quarter. In the Quarter Robidoux had 7 points for the Eagles. Duhamie had 4 points, Montigny a 3-pointer and Sara Shea 2 points. For Caribou Rodriguez had 11 points with 2 3's, Susi had a 3 pointer and Espling 2 points.

In the 4th Quarter, Ellsworth outscored Caribou 18-9 to come away with the 53-46 victory Montigny had 7 points, going 3-5 from the free throw line. Robidoux had 6 points, going 2-4 from the free throw line. Sara Shea had a 3-pointer and Sierra Andrews 2 points. For Caribou Espling had 5 points, and Rodriguez and LaBreck 2 points each.

Ellsworth was led by Kylie Robidoux with a game high 21 points. Trinity Montigny had 15 points. The Eagles were 10-15 from the free throw line.

Caribou was led by Alexis Rodriguez with 16 points while Paige Espling had 11 points. The Vikings were 11-25 from the free throw line.

Ellsworth is now 12-4. They have 2 games remaining in the regular season, both at home. On Tuesday, January 29th they will play Foxcroft Academy and then on Wednesday, February 6th they will play MDI. That game will be broadcast on AM 1370 WDEA, on WDEA Internet Radio, on our free downloadable APP and on any Alexa endabled device.

Caribou is 2-14 and have 2 games remaining in the regular season. They play John Bapst at the University of Maine on Saturday, February 2nd and close out the season at home against Presque Isle on Wednesday, February 6th.
