#5 Ellsworth Boys Basketball Beats #4 MDI 47-42 [STATS]

The #5 Ellsworth Eagles beat #4 MDI 47-42 in the Northern Maine Class B Quarterfinals on Saturday afternoon, February 14th at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor.

Ellsworth led 14-12 at the end of the 1st Quarter. Jackson Barry had 4 points while Eli Holler and Colby Eaton had 3 points each for Ellsworth. James Witham and Dylan Stoll had 5 points each for the Trojans

Ellsworth outscored MDI 13-4 in the 2nd Quarter to take a 27-16 lead at the Half. Eli Holler had 6 points and Jackson Barry had 5 for Ellsworth, while Kenneth Stilwell and Lincoln Gray each had 2 points for MDI.

MDI cut the lead to 8 points in the 3rd Quarter, 38-30. Witham and Stoll each had 5 points for the Trojans while Evan Haskell had 5 points for Ellsworth.

The 4th Quarter turned into a free throw shooting contest. MDI went 10-12 from the line, while Ellsworth made just enough, going 5-10 and getting 2 points from Porter Merrill and Jackson Barry.

Ellsworth was led by Jackson Barry with 13 points while Eli Holler and Colby Eaton each had 10 points. Evan Haskell and Eli Holler each had a 3-pointer. The Eagles were 7-12 from the free throw line.

MDI was led by James Witham with 16 points. Dylan Stoll and Kenneth Stilwell each had 9 points. Witham had 2 3's with Stillwell having 1 3-pointer. The Trojans were 15-18 from the free throw line.

Ellsworth moves on to the Class B Semifinals where they will play #1  Cony on Wednesday afternoon, February 18th at 3:30 p.m.
