Ellsworth Football Falls to Camden Hills 58-12
The Ellsworth Eagles fell to the Camden Hills Windjammers 58-12 on Saturday afternoon, September 20th at Camden Hills High School in Rockport.
The day couldn't have started any better for Ellsworth. With Camden Hills deferring and kicking off, Ripley Strout returned the opening kickoff 80 yards for a touchdown. The 2-point conversion was no good and Ellsworth led 6-0.
Ellsworth scored again in the 1st Quarter, Wyl Renwick connected on a 23 yard pass to Strout.
But, those were the only highlights for the Eagles. Camden Hills led 28-12 at the end of the 1st Quarter and 50-12 at the end of the 1st Half.
With the game played with running time because of the 35 point running-time rule, Camden Hills added another touchdown before Asa Jordan ran in for a 15 yard touchdown with 10:12 left to play in the 4th Quarter.
Camden Hills outgained Ellsworth 449 yards to 142 yards.
