The Ellsworth Eagles were trailing Old Town 6-4 after 6 innings, but scored 3 runs in the bottom of the 7th inning, to beat the Old Town Coyotes 7-6 in Ellsworth on Tuesday, May 5th.

Coleman Welch started the bottom of the 7th with an infield grounder and reached on an error. Evan Haskell flew out, for the 1st out.  Dawson Curtis worked a walk to move Welch to 2nd base. Jackson Berry then walked, to load the bases. Gunner Vines then singled, scoring Welch and Curtis. Joey Bell walked to load the bases. Brayden Pooler then struck out for the 2nd out. Porter Merrill was hit by the pitch to drive in the winning run.

Gunner Vines was 2-4 with the 2 runs batted in. Brayden Pooler, Dawson Curtis and Porter Merrill each had a double. Merrill drove in 3 runs. Evan Haskell and Jackson Barry each singled.

Dawson Curtis started on the mound for the Eagles. He went 5.2 innings allowing 3 hits and 5 runs, 3 of which were earned  He struck out 10 and walked 5. Evan Haskell retired 1 batter, allowing a hit and run, walking 2. Gunner Vines picked up the win, pitching the 7th inning allowing 1 hit, 1 walk and striking out 2.

Cayden Campagna started on the mound or Old Town and went 6.1 innings. He allowed 6 hits and 6 runs, 5 of which were earned. He struck out 6 and walked 3. Julian Duty retired 1, allowing 1 hit and 1 run, walking 2 and striking out 1, taking the loss.

Michael Caroll had a pair of singles for the Coyotes. Ethan Closson, Jackson Brawn and Isaac Depew each had a single and run batted in.

The Coyotes stole 5 bases. Closson, Depew, Carroll and Tyler Priest each had a stolen bag.

Ellsworth is now 4-0. They will play at Bucksport on Wednesday, May 6th at 4:30 p.m.

Old Town is 4-2. They will host Foxcroft Academy on Thursday, May 7th at 4:30 p.m.
