The unofficial election results for the Ellsworth City Schedules were extremely close, with the Top 3 being elected.

John Linnehan, who finished 4th, just 2 votes behind Marinna Smith, the unofficial 3rd place finisher and just 4 votes bend Carol Patterson-Martineau the unofficial 2nd place finisher has requested a recount.

The City of Ellsworth has scheduled the hand recount of the ballots on Friday, November 14th to begin at 9 a.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers. If necessary, the recount will continue on Saturday, November 15th.

The Ellsworth City Council Chambers will be open to the public to watch the recount beginning at 8 a.m. on Friday the 14th.

Because of the recount, the election certification and organizational meeting to swear in the new 3 City Councilors will be postponed from Monday November 10th to Monday, November 17th at 4 p.m. just prior to the regularly scheduled City Council meeting which will begin at 6 p.m.

Under the City Charter and Maine State law, the current City Council continues to serve until the new Council is officially seated.

The recount will be live-streamed on the City of Ellsworth's YouTube page.
