Ellsworth Baseball Shuts Out Old Town 5-0

The Ellsworth Eagles defeated the Old Town Coyotes 5-0 on Memorial Day, Monday, May 27th in Old Town as Ellsworth pitcher Matt Burnett threw a 2 hitter.

Burnett struck out 11 and didn't walk a batter. He faced just 24 batters in the 7 innings.

Hunter Curtis was 3-4 for Ellsworth with a double and 2 singles. Riley Grindle had 2 singles and Tyler Mitchell, Conner Wagstaff and Matt Burnett each had a single.

For Old Town Brenden Gasaway and Tanner Evans had singles.

Ellsworth, now 13-1 has 2 games remaining in the regular season. They will play at Washington Academy on Tuesday, May 28th and then finish off the regular season at MDI on Wednesday, May 29th at 4:30.
