The Ellsworth Eagles Baseball Team shutout the George Stevens Academy Eagles 10-0 in a mercy rule shortened 6-inning game after scoring 4 runs in the bottom of the 6th inning.

Craig Burnett pitched a gem for Ellsworth, allowing just 2 hits and walking 1 while striking out 13. He retired the first 9 batters he faced, 8 by strike-out.

Sol Lorio started for GSA going 5 innings. He allowed 6 runs and 9 hits. He struck out 3 and walked 2. Breton Lebel allowed the final 4 runs in the 7th inning, striking out 1, walking 4 and giving up 3 runs.

Ellsworth scored 1 run in the 1st, 3 runs in the 3rd inning, 2 runs in the 4th and then 4 runs in the 6th inning before the game was called

Brett Bragdon was 4-4 for Ellsworth with a double and 3 singles.He scored 3 times and drove in a run

Craig Burnett was 2-4 with a double and single. He scored once and drove in a run.

Hunter Curtis had a double and walked 3 times. He scored twice and drove in a run.

Reece Jagels had a pinch hit single in the 6th inning and scored a run.

Peter Belinsky had a double, and drove in 3 runs, and scored once.

Michael Palmer had a single, scored once and drove in a run.

Billy Garland was 2-4 with a pair of singles, driving in 2 runs and scored once.

For GSA Sol Lorio and Johan Rey each singled, both in the 4th inning.

Ellsworth 1-1 will play host to Caribou on Saturday, May 1st in a doubleheader, with the games at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

GSA 2-1 plays host to Searsport on Thursday, April 29th
