In a game that took a little over 2 3/4 hours, and was broadcast on WDEA Internet Radio the Ellsworth Baseball Team outlasted MDI 6-4 in 9 innings, on Senior Recognition Day in Bar Harbor. It ended the regular season, with both teams advancing to the playoffs.

Ellsworth scored 1st in the top of the 1st inning. With 1 out Devin Grindle singled and stole 2nd. He reached 3rd on a fielder's choice by Jackson Curtis and came around to score on a single by Matt Burnett.

MDI took the lead 2-1 in the bottom of the 2nd inning, sending 8 batters to the plate. With 1 out Quentin Pileggi hit a double and advanced to 3rd on a fielder's choice by Kyle Nicholson. Alex Foster, singled, his 1st hit of the season, driving in Pileggi. Chris Horton walked, moving Foster to 2nd. Sam Keblinsky singled driving in Foster. Beckwith singled but Ellsworth pitcher Conner Wagstaff got Drew Shea to pop out to 3rd, leaving the bases loaded.

Ellsworth tied the game in the top of the 3rd. With 1 out Tyler Mitchell walked and then moved to 2nd on an error by MDI's left fielder. He then would score on Burnett's RBI single.

Ellsworth added a run in the top of the 4th to make it 3-2. Conner Wagstaff tripled to start the inning. After a strikeout, Nate Smith doubled driving in Wagstaff.

MDI left 2 runners on in the 3rd, 4th and 5th innings, and the bases loaded in the 6th.

In the 7th inning, Ellsworth added another run, to make it 4-2. With 1 out Devin Grindle doubled. Jackson Curtis doubled with Grindle stopping at 3rd. Burnett singled, driving in Grindle for his 3rd RBI of the game. MDI got out of the inning without any further damage and came to bat trailing by 2 runs.

In the 7th inning, with 1 out Foster reached on a walk and went to 2nd on a passed ball.  After a strikeout, MDI got a little 2 out magic. Keblinsky singled, driving in Foster to make the score 4-3. Logan Beckwith doubled moving Keblinsky to 3rd. Drew Shea was intentionally walked loading the bases. Keblinsky scored on a passed ball to tie the game at 4-4 before Devin Grindle got the final out of the inning. MDI left 2 runners on base.

In the 8th inning Ellsworth left 2 runners on base, and MDI stranded a runner on 3rd.

In the top of the 9th inning Ellsworth scored their 2 runs with 2 outs. Matt Burnett singled to open the inning for the Eagles for his 4th hit of the game. Hunter Curtis hit a hard grounder to the pitcher Porter Isaacs who turned and fired to Keblinsky covering 2nd who then threw to 1st for a double play. With 2 out Wagstaff singled. He stole 2nd and Michael Palmer reached 1st on a passed ball 3rd strike, allowing Wagstaff to score. Palmer advanced to 2nd on an error and scored on Nate Smith's single.

In the bottom of the 9th Keblinsky doubled with 1 out and then Beckwith struck out. Drew Shea hit a scalding line drive but Wagstaff tracked it down in left center for the final out, and preserved Ellsworth's victory.

Conner Wagstaff started the game on the mound for Ellsworth and went 5 innings allowing 10 hits and 2 runs. He struck out 6 and walked 4. Devin Grindle picked up the win in relief, allowing 2 runs on 5 hits, striking out 6 and walking 2.

Sam Mitchell started the game for MDI and went 4 innings. He allowed 3 runs on 6 hits. He struck out 2 and walked 2. Porter Isaacs took the loss, throwing 5 innings allowing 3 runs, although just 1 was earned, striking out 6 and walking 2.

For Ellsworth Burnett was 4-4. Deving Grindle was 3-5 with a double. Wagstaff was 2-3 with a triple. Smith was 2-5 with a double. Jackson Curtis had a double. Tyler Mitchell had a single.

For MDI Keblinsky was 5-5 with a double, reaching base all 6 appearances. Beckwith was 3-5 with 2 doubles. Pileggi was 3-5 with a double. Drew Shea, Porter Isaacs, Kyle Nicholson and Alex Foster all singled.

Ellsworth finishes up the regular season with a 15-1 record, on top of the Class B North Heal Point Standings and will have a bye, and will play the winner of the 8-9 prelim game,between Lawrence and Presque Isle at Ellsworth.

MDI finishes the regular season with a 8-8 record, in 5th place. They will play John Bapst the 12th seed who finished the season with a 7-9 record in Bar Harbor in a prelim game.
