After a long year without baseball because of COVID, the Ellsworth Eagles Baseball Team took the diamond for the first game of the 2021 season, falling to the Old Town Coyotes 8-2 at Ellsworth High School.

Craig Burnett started for Ellsworth and went 3.2 innings allowing 2 runs, 1 earned. He struck out 7 and walked 4, giving up 1 hit.

Michael Palmer came on in the 4th inning and went 3.1 innings allowing 6 runs, 4 earned. He gave up 6 hits while striking out 4 and walking 4

Gabe Gifford pitched a complete game for the Coyotes, striking out 13 while walking 2. He gave up 5 hits.

For Ellsworth Peter Kablinsky was 2-3 with a pair of singles. Craig Burnett had a double and Hunter Curtis and Brett Bragdon each singled. Bragdon drove in a run.

For Old Town Tanner Evans was 2-4 with 2 singles and 2 runs batted in. Gabe Gifford has a double and drove in a run. Noah Thibodeau had a double. Casey Downs had a single and drove in 2 runs. Isaac Hayes and Peyton Vose each had a single.

Ellsworth 0-1 will host GSA on Tuesday April 27th while Old Town 1-0 will host John Bapst on Tuesday, April 27th.
