The Ellsworth Baseball Team batted around twice and banged out 13 hits, beating the Old Town Coyotes 20-1 on a breezy Tuesday afternoon, April 30th in Ellsworth.

Ellsworth was patient at the plate, walking 11 times, as Old Town pitchers struggled to find the strike zone.

Ellsworth scored 10 runs in the 1st inning, batting around and added 7 runs in the 2nd, batting around again. They added 3 runs in the 3rd. The game was shortened due to the mercy rule at the end of 4.5 innings.

Ellsworth was led by Nate Smith with 3 singles, Jackson Curtis had a double and 2 singles. Conner Wagstaff had a double and single. Devin Grindle had 2 singles.  Tyler Mitchell, Hunter Fernald, and Brett Bragdon each had a single.

Matt Burnett picked up the win for Ellsworth.

Tyler McCannel, Gabe Talon and Michael Brown singled for Old Town.

Ellsworth 2-0 plays host to George Stevens Academy on Wednesday, May 1st at 4:30

Old Town 2-3 plays at Foxcroft Academy on Wednesday, May 1st at 4:30
