The Ellsworth Eagles defeated the Bucksport Golden Bucks 2-1 in 9 innings on Tuesday, May 26th in Ellsworth.

Conor Maguire picked up the win, pitching a complete game, striking out 13. He scattered 7 hits and allowed 1 earned run. He didn't walk any.

Three Bucksport pitchers Asher Bowden, Carter Deredin and Jacob  Gauvin limited Ellsworth to just 6 hits. Bowden pitched 6 innings allowing 3 hits, and striking out 4. Deredin pitched 2 innings, giving up 1 unearned run, on 1 hit, striking out 4 and walking 1. Gauving took the loss giving up 2 hits, striking out 1 and walking 1.

Bucksport scored first in the top of the 2nd inning. Bowden singled and advanced to 2nd base on a wild pitch. Deredin singled advancing Bowden to 3rd. Gauvin drove in Bowden when he grounded out to the pitcher.

Ellsworth tied the game in the bottom of the 7th.  After Griffin Nightengale struck out, Devin Wright walked and stole 2nd. He then scored on an error.

In the bottom of the 9th inning, Mitchell Domagla singled and advanced to 2nd base on Nightengale's sacrifice bunt. He scored on Troy Folmer's walk off single.

For Bucksport Chase Carmichael was 2-4, Jack Cyr was 1-4, Asher Bowden was 1-4, Carter Deredin was 1-4, Jacob Gauvin was 1-3 with a double, and Andrew Allan was 1-3 with a double.

For Ellsworth Conor Maguire was 1-4, Avery Anderson wqas 1-4, Nicholas Bagley was 2-4, Mitchell Domagala was 1-3 and Troy Folmer was 1-3.

Ellsworth is now 8-6. Their final 2 games are at home on Saturday, May 30th against Foxcroft Academy and at MDI on Tuesday, June 2nd against the Trojans.

Bucksport is 9-4 on the season. They have 3 games remaining in the season: home against Sumner on Wednesday May 27th; home against Dexter on Friday, May 29th and on the road against George Steven's Academy on Monday June 1st.
