The Ellsworth Eagles won their 7th straight game, improving to 9-1 on the season, defeating the Belfast Lions 14-4 on Friday, May 11th.

The Eagles scored 3 runs in the 1st inning and 2 in the 2nd inning. The Eagles batted around in the 4th inning, scoring 5 runs. They added 3 more in the 5th inning and 1 in the 6th inning.

Conner Wagstaff pitched 4 2/3 innings for the win. Bradly Smith picked up the save, pitching the  final 1 1/3 innings. They combined to allow 5 hits and struck out 11 and walked 3

The Eagles  banged out 13 hits off of 4 Lion's pitchers. Sam Horne had 2 doubles and a single. Matt Burnett had 2 doubles. Bradly Smith, Jared Hamilton had 2 singles, Devin Grindle had a double and Jack Lee, Jackson Curtis and Tyler Mitchell had a single for Ellsworth.

For Belfast Lucas Hamlin had a double and single.Jason Bartlett had a double. Tyler Bartlett had a single and Konnor Harford singled as well

The Eagles will next play at Old Town on Tuesday, May 15th at 4:30 PM.

Belfast, now 4-5 plays at Mount View on Monday, May 14th at 4 PM.
