The Ellsworth Eagles Softball team snapped their 3 game losing streak on Friday, May 11th, defeating the Belfast Lions 8-3 in Ellsworth.

Mackenzie Chipman picked up the win for the Eagles, pitching a complete game. She allowed 3 runs, all unearned. She gave up 4 hits while striking out 4 and 0 walks.

Brooke Richards pitched for the Lions, getting the loss. Of the 8 runs she gave up, 7 of which were earned. She allowed 11 hits and stuck out 2.

For Ellsworth, Sara Shea was 3-4 with a double.Lexi Rossi  was 3-3 with a double. Katelynn Bagley was 2-3 with a triple. Hannah Sargent had a triple. Kayla Duhaime and Mariah Young each had a single. Lexi Rossi was a thief on the basepaths, stealing 3 bases.

For Belfast, Maya Cunningham had 2 hits for Belfast with a double. Macy Gate had 2 singles.

Ellsworth is now 4-5 and plays at Old Town on Tuesday, May 15th at 4:30 PM.

Belfast is now 4-5 as well and plays at Mount View on Monday, May 14th at 4 PM.
