E-Rod Picks Up Where He Left Off K’s 12 in Return From DL – Red Sox Win 6-1
Eduardo Rodriguez came off the disabled list and in his 1st start, picked up right where he left off before injuring himself, on July 14th. In his return, E-Rod went 5.2 innings, striking out 12, walking 1 and just allowing the White Sox 3 hits and 1 run.
Ryan Brasier, Matt Barnes and Joe Kelly closed out the game allowing a combined 2 hits, striking out 6 and not walking a batter.
The Red Sox hit 3 solo homers, with Jackie Bradley Jr. hitting his 12th, Ian Kinsler his 14th and Eduardo Nunez his 10th. Jackie Bradley Jr. also hit his 4th triple and Mookie Betts his 39th double of the season.
The Boston Red Sox remain 7.5 games ahead of the New York Yankees, who beat Detroit Saturday 2-1.
The Red Sox play the 4th and final game of the series against the Chicago White Sox on Sunday afternoon with the pregame starting at 1:25 and 1st pitch at 2:10 on AM 1370 with Brian Johnson scheduled to pitch for Boston.
