The Boston Red Sox continued to receive excellent starting pitching, as Tanner Houck pitched 6 scoreless innings Monday night, and the Red Sox beat the Oakland A's 9-0 on the West Coast.
Houck allowed just 3 hits, striking out 10, matching a career-high and more importantly didn't walk a batter. Chase Anderson pitched the final 3 innings, earning the save and just allowed a hit. He struck out 3 and didn't walk a batter.
Jarren Duran, batting lead-off and playing left field was 3-5 with 3 stolen bases, and now has 5 on the season. He is now the first player in Red Sox history with 5 steals in the first 5 games of the season.
