Dr. Nirav Shah of the Maine CDC spent some time this week explaining his reasons why wearing face coverings in public is important.

Governor Janet Mills is expected to issue an executive order very soon, making the wearing of face coverings in many communities, including Bangor and Brewer, enforceable. Face coverings are used to stop any droplets or spray that's created when someone coughs or sneezes, or even talks. So wearing a face covering will protect others from getting sick, if you should be contagious. Dr. Nirav Shah has given five specific reasons that he, personally, always wears face coverings in public.
