Don't be surprised if you see The CAT in Bar Harbor's waters sometime between October 23rd and 27th. It is returning for a visit for trials and training in preparation for the 2022 season.

Bay Ferries Limited, owners of The CAT, tells us that she will be returning to Maine-Canandian waters to undertake regulatory certification of crew members, technical trials and dock testing.

Bar Harbor residents will see the ship making multiple entries from the port in Bar Harbor during the day and night, as part of the training and certification regimen. Everything is subject to weather and sea conditions.

Bay Ferries spokesperson Rhonda Latter said "We are very excited to take this concrete step toward return to ferry service next year."

Details of the 2022 operating schedule, pricing and other information will be released in the coming months.
