Not only are squirrels all over the roads (or what's left of them!) but now, NEWS CENTER Maine Meteorologist Keith Carson is saying that squirrels are responsible for those tiny power flickers that happen more pretty frequently.

In this video posted to Facebook, Carson talks about what happens when our furry friends climb up onto the top of telephone poles that carry power lines. In some cases, when a squirrel closes the circuit (touches both the power source and a conduit to the ground,) the critter will get fried to death, and our power will flicker as a result.

So now, every single time I see my power flicker on and off, I'll pour one out for Mr. Squirrly McSquirrelface who just lit up like a Christmas tree.
