
DaCorte Earns All-American Honors in 500 Freestyle
Former MDI Trojan Lydia DaCorte is competing at the 2019 NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships in Greensboro, North Carolina, and on Wednesday , March 20th finished 4th in the women's 500-yard freestyle finals, earning the first NCAA All-American honor of her career.
DaCorte, who was named the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Women's Swimmer of the Year, finished the event in 4:51.61, which not only broke her school record but also the NEWMAC record in the event.
On Thursday, March 21st she finished in 14th place in the 400 Individual Medley with a time of 4:28.05. By finishing 14th she earned All-American Honorable Mention in this event.
She still has 1 more event to compete in, the 1650 meter freestyle.
Last season DaCorte earned three All-American honorable mention finishes.
