Bunky Dow, the Athletic Director at MDI High School announced that 6 individuals will be inducted into the MDI High School Hall of Fame on Friday, October 7th during halftime of the MDI-Madison football game.

Being inducted on October 7th are Diane Wood Cavanaugh (posthumously), Bracey Barker Ulin, Harold Hatch (posthumously), Leroy Dyer, Wilton Jones and Jared Polcheis.

Diane Wood Cavanaugh
Diane graduated from MDI High School in 1982. She was a member of 6 State Championship Teams during her high school career, Indoor Track for 3 consecutive years, 1980-1982, Cross Country in 1980 and 1981 and Outdoor Track in 1981. She lettered every season in her high school career, earning 12 letters. During Diane's senior year she won the 2 Mile Individual State Championship and was selected as an All American Honorable Mention for this event.

Bracey Barker Ulin
Bracey graduated MDI High School in 2003. She was instrumental in leading the MDI Girl's Basketall program to 3 consecutive State Championships in 2001, 2002 and 2003. She was also selected as Miss Maine Basketball in 2003. After graduating from MDI, Bracey attended the University of Maine on a full basketball scholarship.

Harold Hatch
Harold graduated from Pemetic High School in 1957. He was a gifted athlete and multi-sport star. He won numerous Maine State Individual Cross Country and Track titles. In 1956 he won the New England Cross Country Championship and also was selected in 1957 as All-State in Class M from the State Basketball Championship Team.

Leroy Dyer
Leroy graduated from Bar Harbor High School in 1952. He was a member of the football, basketball and baseball all 4 years of his high school career. Her served as co-captain of the baseball team his senior year. He was the winning pitcher in 1950 and 1952 in the PVC Championship Game. After graduating from Bar Harbor High School, Leroy went to Bowdoin College where he played baseball. He later signed a professional contract to pitch for the Milwaukee Braves.

Wilton Jones
Wilt Jones coached the MDI Varsity Boy's Basketball team for 14 years and helped guide the team to the Eastern Maine Championships in 1995 and as the Eastern Maine Runner-Up in 1996. He also coached the Varsity Golf Team for 15 years. During that time the MDI Golf Team won the PVC Regional Championships in 1994 and 2012.

Jared Polcheis
Jared graduated from MDI High School in 1994. He played Varsity Football, Basketball and Baseball all 4 years of his high school career and earned 12 varsity letters. He was 2nd Team All Conference as a quarterback in his senior year and was named Class B Pitcher of the Year for the Penobscot Valley Conference in 1994.
