The Southwest Harbor Police Department has notified us of a road closure in Southwest Harbor. The road has been closed most of the afternoon on Sunday, June 11th and remains closed as of 5:55 p.m. It looks as if the road will continue to be closed for awhile.

We are sorry to pass along the news that Southwest Harbor Reserve Police Officer Nick Hardwick has passed away. In addition to being a Reserve Police Officer for the Town of Southwest Harbor, he was the full-time jail administrator for Penobscot County.
