Boston’s Bullpen Allows Walk-Off Homer Lose to Astros 5-4 [VIDEO]
The Boston Red Sox's bullpen allowed the tying run in the bottom of the 8th and the winning run in the bottom of the 9th inning as the Houston Astros beat the Boston Red Sox 5-4 on Monday night.
Kenly Jensen took the loss, retiring the 1st batter he faced on 3 straight strikes, but Yainer Diaz hit the game-winning homer on the 1st pitch he faced in the bottom of the 9th.
Tanner Houck started for the Red Sox and gave the BoSox 6.0 innings, allowing 8 hits and 3 runs. He struck out 8 and didn't walk a batter.
Chris Martin pitched a scoreless 7th, striking out 3 batters and allowing 2 hits.
Jarren Duran started the scoring for the Red Sox, hitting a leadoff homer to left, on the 1st pitch he saw in the 1st inning.
