The Boston Red Sox managed just 4 hits on Tuesday night, falling to the Philadelphia Phillies for the 2nd straight game, this time losing 4-1.

Richard Fitts went 3.1 innings for the Red Sox and was tagged for 6 hits and 3 runs, all earned. He struck out 4 and didn't walk a batter but gave up 2 home runs, in the 2nd inning, to Max Kepler (his 11th) and Kyle Schwarber (his 33rd.) Fitts' record fell to 1-4 on the season.

Brennan Bernardino, Chris Murphy and Greg Weissert combined to hold the Phillies to just 1 hit  the remaining 4.2 innings.

Boston's lone run came off of the bat of Rob Refsnyder, who hit a solo home run, his 6th of the season, in the 4th inning.

Boston's batters struck out 12 times.

Carlos Narvaez was called for catcher's interference for the 2nd straight game. On Tuesday night, with Bryce Harper attempting to steal home, he was called for interference for stepping in front of the plate.

Boston is now 54-49. They are 6.0 games out of 1st place, in 3rd place but own the 3rd place Wild Card Playoff spot.

Boston and Philadelphia will play the final game of the 3-game series on Wednesday, July 23rd, with the pregame starting at 6:05 p.m. and 1st pitch at 7:05 p.m. on WDEA AM 1370.
