Red Sox Rally to Beat Guardians 11-7 Tuesday Night [VIDEO]

The Boston Red Sox scored 4 runs in the 8th inning to beat the Cleveland Guardians 11-7 on Tuesday night, September 2nd at Fenway Park.

Boston was up 5-1 and Garrett Crochet was cruising, allowing 2 hits and 1 run through 5 innings. But in the 6th inning, Cleveland teed off, scoring 6 runs on 6 hits, including 3 home runs.

But the Red Sox rallied after trailing 7-5.

Ceddanne Rafaela crushed a 2-run home run in the bottom of the 6th inning, hitting the ball over the Green Monster and onto Landsdowne Street. He finished 2-4 with 4 runs batted in. The home was his 16th of the season.

Alex Bregman had a key hit in the 8th inning, finishing 1-5.

Trevor Story had a double and was 2-5 with 2 runs batted in, in the 8th inning. He's just 2 home runs and 2 RBIs shy of becoming the 3rd Red Sox player with 25 plus homers, 25 plus stolen bases and 90 plus runs batted in, in a season. He would join Mookie Betts (2016) and Jacoby Ellsbury (2011).

Roman Anthony left the game with a oblique injury after swinging and missing on a strike. He was replaced in the game by Nathaniel Lowe, and is expected to have a MRI on Wednesday. Lowe finished the game 2-3 with a double, and his 18th homer.

Masataka Yoshida was 3-4 with a pair of doubles.

Boston is now 78-62 with 22 games left in the regular season. They are tied with the New York Yankees for 2nd place in the AL East 2.5 games behind the Toronto Blue Jays, and tied for the Yankees for the top spot in the AL Wild Card.

Boston and Cleveland will play the final game of the 3-game series on Wednesday, September 3rd with the pregame beginning at 5:45 on WDEA AM 1370.
