The Boston Red Sox fell to the Texas Rangers 4-1 on Friday night, March 28th in Texas

Jonah Heim, the catcher for Texas was 2-3 with a pair of solo home runs to lead the attack for Texas.

Boston had plenty of chances to tie and take the lead, but left 8 men on base and were just 3-11 with runners in scoring position.

Wilyer Abreu continued to hit, and was 2-3 with a run batted in.

Kristian Campbell who had his 1st major league hit on Thursday, was 2-4 with a pair of singles.

Alex Bregman had his 1st hit as a Red Sox player, and ended the night 1-4.

Rafael Devers continued to struggle at the plate, striking out 4 times, including once with the bases loaded and has struck out 7 times in 2 games as Boston's full-time designated hitter.

Jarren Duran leading off was 2-4 and had a stolen base.

Tanner Houck took the loss for the Red Sox. He went 5.2 innings and allowed 7 hits, striking out 2 and walking 3. He was charged with 4 runs.

Greg Weissert and Brennan Bernandino closed out the game combining to allow just 1 hit in 2.1 innings.

The Red Sox and Rangers will play Saturday night. Walker Buehler will make his Red Sox debut on the mound. The pregame starts at 6:05 p.m. with the 1st pitch at 7:05 on AM 1370 WDEA.
