Mookie Betts blasted his 14th career lead-off homer and then a 2 run homer in the top of the 7th inning to put the Red Sox ahead for good 4-3, as the Red Sox took the middle game of the 3 game series against the Toronto Blue Jays and snapped their 3 game losing streak.

Betts now has 8 homers on the season. Brock Holt continued his hot hitting and was 3-4 with a double. He now has a 8 game hitting streak.

Eduardo Rodriguez went 6.2 innings and improved to 3-0 on the season. He allowed 3 runs, all earned. He gave up 3 hits and struck out 3 and walked 1. Heath Hembree, Joe Kelly and Craig Kimbrel pitched 2.3 perfect inning allowing no hits. Kimbrel picked up his 6th save, 1 night after allowing a walk-off homer to Curtis Granderson.
