Barker Earns 250th Career Win as MDI Girls Beat Caribou 48-40 [STATS]
Congratulations to MDi Coach Brent Barker who won his 250th career game on Saturday, December 23rd when the MDI Girls Basketball Team beat Caribou, in the County 48-40.
I have had the pleasure to broadcast many of these games!
On Saturday, Caribou jumped out to a 13-10 lead, but MDI took a 30-19 lead, outscoring Caribou 20-8. At the end of the 3rd Quarter MDI led 40-31.
MDI was led by Lexi Tozier with 15 points, while Sophia Brophy and Mollie Gray each finished with 11 points. Lily Norwood and Sophia Brophy each had a 3-pointer for the Trojans. MDI was a near-perfect 6-7 from the free throw line.
Caribou was led by Madelyn Deprey who had a game-high 24 points. Ainsley Caron had 6 points. Deprey ha 3 3's for the Vikings. Caribou was 5-9 from the free throw line.
MDI is now 3-1. They will play at Ellsworth on Wednesday, December 27th. That game will NOT be on the radio as Chris Popper is in the hospital. It will be live-streamed on the Ellsworth High School Athletics You Tube Channel with the tip-off at 7 p.m. There will be a recap on this website.
Caribou is now 3-3 and will host Washington Academy on Thursday, December 28th at 3 p.m.
