Autumn Gold will be celebrated throughout the City of Ellsworth this weekend September 26th-29th. This year's theme is "A Pirate's Life for Me!"

Here's the schedule of events.

Thursday September 26th

  • Business After Hours - Something to Wag About 328 Bucksport Road, Ellsworth. Awards for the City-Wide Decorating Contest will be announced.

Friday September 27th

  • 3D Film:Pirates of the Caribbean - Dead Men Tell No Tales 7 p.m. at The Grand. $5.00 general admission. Come dressed in your best pirate attire and you might win a prize!

Saturday September 28th

  • Rotary Pancake Breakfast  7-10 a.m. at the Ellsworth Elementary -Middle School
  • Downeast Scenic Railroad - Autumn Gold Train Rides at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.  Book Train Rides HERE
  • 40th Annual Car Show - Located at the Home Depot Parking Lot in Ellsworth. Registration for participants starts at 8 a.m. Awards will be presented at 1 p.m. Free admission for spectators. Pre-registration for participants is $10.00, Day of Registration is $20.00. The Car Show is sponsored by Coastal Auto Parts-NAPA and Darling's Auto Mall
  • Roger Willey Road Race - Beginning at 0 a.m. at the Downeast Family YMCA
  • Treasure Hunt for Kids in Downtown Ellsworth starts at 9 a.m. Pick up maps at the Ellsworth Public Library. Ends at 11 a.m.

The following events will take place at Harbor Park on Saturday, September 28th

  • Free Union River Boat Rides from 9:30 to 12:30
  • Kids Carnival from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. . There will be Face Painting, Rock/Shell Painting, free games with prizes and more
  • Mutt Strutt - Registered contestants meet at the gazebo at Harbor Park with the contest starting at 2 p.m.

Sunday September 29th.

  • HOPEFUL art installation at 5 p.m. in the Franklin Parklet on Main Street.
