August 24 – National Waffle Day [POLL]

August 24th is National Waffle Day! It celebrates the anniversary of the first waffle iron patent issued. It was issued to Cornelius Swarthout of Troy, New York on August 24, 1869

I love waffles. But they seem so much more work than pancakes. If I'm going out for breakfast or brunch, I'll consider ordering a waffle. I'm not sure if we even have a waffle iron at home. We used to, but given the fact that we didn't use it that much, I'm pretty certain my wife put it in one of her yard sales for a $1.00 or $2.00.
