The AOS 91 School Board and the Teacher's Union have been negotiating a contract, and last night, Wednesday August 22nd, the School Board went into executive session to discuss labor negotiations. When they came out, they voted to ratify the agreement.

The next step in the tentative agreement is for the Teacher's Union to vote on the contract. Until they formally ratify the agreement, details of the agreement remain confidential.

The current 3 year contract expires on August 30, 2018. If the new contract isn't ratified by then, then the existing contract will continue in force until the new contract is ratified.

I'm not aware as of Thursday, August 23rd when the above mentioned vote will take place, but this is certainly good news for all concerned, what with school beginning next week!
