A Tough Day in the County for MDI Soccer
It was a tough day in Aroostook County on Saturday, September 22nd as the MDI Girls and Boys Soccer Teams lost to the Caribou Vikings.
The MDI Girls were shutout 3-0 by Caribou. The Trojans are now 5-2 and will play host to Presque Isle on Tuesday, September 25th at 4PM.
The MDI Boys fell to the Vikings 6-1. Caribou scored 4 goals in the first 15 minutes of the game. Alex Ezzy scored a hat trick in the 1st half, with assists from Ethan Holdsworth, Tom Pinette and Cullin Caverhill. Caverhill assisted on the 4th goal, scored by Holdsworth.
Ezzy added 2 more goals in the 2nd Half, to finish with 5 goals on the day. The 1st goal in the 2nd Half was scored on a header on a corner kick by Holdsworth. Ezzy's 5th goal was scored on a direct kick.
MDI's goal came off the foot of Oliver Johnston.
Caribou goalie Noah Hixon finished with 4 saves on 8 MDI shots, and MDI goalie Ivan Andros had 9 saves on 22 Caribou shots
MDI now 3-4-1 will play host to Presque Isle on Monday, September 24th at 4PM.
