A Ton of Pasta? More like 6.39 Ton!
What an amazing day! Through your generosity our 19th Annual Ton of Pasta was the most successful ever! Combined through your contributions we were able to collect the equivalent of of 12,787 pounds of pasta or 6.39 ton, our best year ever!
In Ellsworth, WDEA was at the Ellsworth Hannaford, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Between the actual pasta and cash that you dropped off, through your generosity we collected the equivalent of 4448 pounds of pasta, which is over 2 ton! That is being split between the Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry, the Bar Harbor Food Pantry, Community Closet and the Emmaus Homeless Shelter.
As cold as we were, we were warmed by your kindness thanking us for being out in the cold. It was truly amazing to hear stories of listeners who had been on the receiving end of pasta from previous Ton of Pasta Food Drives and were now in a position to help their fellow Mainers. To see little children coming up and putting in pasta on the table or donating a dollar or their contents of their piggy banks warmed our hearts.
Days like today just reinforce what I have said so often, Mainers take care of Mainers and those they love. Today through your generosity you proved that, to the tune of 12,787 pounds.
From all of us at Townsquare Media, and on behalf of the recipients of your generosity thank you, thank you! Thank you 12,787 times!
