Poor Miriam Tucker of Tampa, Florida. She was attending a charity dinner at the Tampa Woman's Club 65th annual Fashionella event. Everyone who purchased a glass of champagne for $20.00 had a cubic zirconium in the bottom of the glass, except for one person, who would win a 1.03 carat diamond.

From reports, there were about 300 - 400 people there, with people buying multiple glasses of champagne. As fate would have it, Miriam Tucker had the diamond in one of her glasses, and you guessed it, she took a small sip of champagne and by accident, swallowed the diamond. Thinking it was just one of the many cubic zirconium, she never mentioned it.

That is, until they had gone through all the cubic zirconium, and realized that the diamond wasn't there! That's when she sheepishly explained what happened. She went to the hospital for an X-ray, and sure enough, it was there right in her large intestine. Fate was kind though, as Miriam was scheduled for a colonoscopy for the very next day!

The doctor removed the diamond, and Miriam brought it back to the jeweler who had donated the diamond in a biohazard bag! After having the diamond steamed and cleaned with an ultra sonic machine, the diamond was returned to Miriam. She was quoted as saying she was going to wear it around her neck as it was such a conversation piece and eventually give it to her granddaughter!
