Thanks for reading, I have had a lot of fun, sharing these memories, as my wife, Bonnie and I get ready to celebrate our 25th Anniversary, on Tuesday, June 25th. Today, I'm going to share a story, that I must have conveniently forgotten.

As you may have read, I met my wife out on Block Island, where I was managing a 43 room resort hotel, The National, and she was the special education teacher at the Block Island School. Block Island was a bustling Island during the summer, but year round it had a population of only about 500.

When I met Bonnie, she was dating someone else, that lived on the mainland, and luckily for me, that relationship ended. I asked Bonnie out, and she said yes. Now this is the part that I don't remember, but Bonnie has told me about it for 25 years, so it must be true! Apparently I blew her off on our first date, opting instead to play poker with her brother Alan and others in the conference room in the back of the hotel!

I don't know what I was possibly thinking! Luckily for me, she gave me a second chance! I don't even really like the game poker, but I love my wife! I know I wasn't the winner when it came to poker that night, but I've been a winner for nearly 25 years!

Happy Almost Anniversary! I love you Bonnie!
