We Remember D-Day: 70 Years Ago Today
Today is a day of remembrance. As we remember the thousands of men and women that participated in the invasion of Normandy on June 6th, 1944, otherwise known as D-Day.
Thousands lost their lives just training for the mission and then 4,414 more Americans and members of the allied forces lost their lives storming the beaches of France in a massive effort to drive back the German army.
It was a tremendous sacrifice for freedom.
My 87 year old mother cries every time the topic is brought up.
Most of "the greatest generation" are gone now. You walk the grounds of this country because of them.
It's up to us to remember. Please take more than a moment to do so today.
