Here's how you can sing the National Anthem in front of 25,000 people in Bar Harbor on the 4th of July!

The Fourth of July is fast approaching and the Bar Harbor Chamber of Commerce is busy planning the annual celebrations. With a day full of parades, seafood festivals, concerts and fireworks, the Fourth of July in Bar Harbor is always a holiday to remember.

This year though, the Bar Harbor Chamber of Commerce is happy to announce a new addition to the celebrations. They’ve recently launched a talent search for an individual who will sing our National Anthem just before the fireworks to the 25,000 people who come to watch the fireworks. “There is so much talent in our local communities, we thought that this would be a great way to showcase that,” says Chris Fogg, executive director for the Chamber.

Anyone who is interested in entering the signing contest should submit a video of themselves singing the ‘Star-Spangled Banner’ a cappella to jwright@barharborinfo.com. Public submissions will be accepted until Friday, June 20th, after which the entries will be narrowed down to 5 finalists who will then offer a live audition on the 25th, before a final winner will be announced.
