9:52 PM Update - What an outstanding job by the linecrew and workers of Emera Maine today! After a peak outage of about 11,000 as of 9:52 PM there were only 679 customers without power. Crews are staying in the field overnight and into tomorrow until all customers are restored. Any customer without power as of 11 PM should plan to be without power overnight.

11:34 AM Update - Emera Maine has made steady progress, since the peak outages of about 11,000. As of right now, there are 5697 customers without power.

Based on early estimates, restoration times are as follows:
Northern Penobscot/Piscataquis County- By end of today
Penobscot County - Majority by end of day today, Some may be delayed until tomorrow. Hancock County - Majority by end of day today, Some may be delayed until tomorrow. Washington County - Majority by end of day today, Some may be delayed until tomorrow.

Customers are encouraged to check the live outage and restoration map for updates around 1 PM as additional information is shared by crews and more detailed restoration estimates are available.

As of 4 AM on Thanksgiving Day, November 27th, Emera Maine was reporting that there were 9198 customers without power as a result of the snowstorm that began yesterday afternoon. The live outage map shows that the majority of those without power are in Hancock County, and the report indicates that of the 9198 without power, 4612 are within Hancock County and 2995 are within Penobscot County.

Customers are reminded to never touch a downed line or a tree in contact with one.  Anyone using alternate heat sources or generators are urged to follow manufacturer guidelines and take proper safety precautions.

The winter storm warning remains in effect until 9 AM. The National Weather Service in Caribou is calling for continued snow this morning, with totals in the Bangor area of 10-14 inches. As of 9:30 last night, at our house in Bangor, we had received 8 inches of snow.

For Hancock County, the National Weather Service in Caribou is calling for continued snow this morning, total snowfall of 6 to 10 inches, with winds diminishing this afternoon.

Emera Maine is planning to issue another power outage update at 11 AM and we will update this post then.
