Sumpter to Become Executive Director of Mount Desert Chamber of Commerce

According to Mainebiz, Micki Sumpter, the former Ellsworth Economic Development Director and Director of the Ellsworth Area Chamber of Commerce is going to become the part-time Executive Director of the Mount Desert Chamber of Commerce.

Micki was the  director of the Ellsworth Area Chamber of Commerce from 1997 to 2013, then became economic development director for Ellsworth, serving full-time from 2013 to November 2018. She served as part-time economic development director in an advisory capacity from November until she stepped down for good in late June.

She will take on her new position in mid-July. Of her new position she told Mainebiz “It’s a whole different challenge because the populations are different. I need to look at the members and see what their needs are and make sure everyone can be heard."
