The Boston Red Sox fell to the Minnesota Twins 6-2 on Tuesday night, June 19th, dropping the 1st game of the 3 game series and falling out of 1st place as the New York Yankees beat Seattle 7-2

Chris Sale deserved better. He pitched 7.0 innings allowing just 3 hits, 2 earned runs while striking out 11 and walking 1.

Robby Scott, recalled from Pawtucket just before the game, and Joe Kelly gave up 4 runs in the 8th inning after the game had been tied 2-2.

The Red Sox had a chance to break the game open but JD Martinez struck out with the bases loaded. He was 2-5. Rafael Devers hit his 12th homer of the season.

The Red Sox and Twins will play Wednesday night with the pregame starting at 7:25 and 1st pitch at 8:10 on AM 1370 WDEA. The Red Sox are scheduled to send David Price, 8-4, to the mound
