The Boston Red Sox defeated the first place Tampa Bay Rays 4-3 in 10 innings on Friday, June 26th in Tampa Bay. Mookie Betts doubled in the top of the 10th inning and then Brock Holt singled, scoring Betts to put the Red Sox in the lead. Koji Uehara then needed 10 pitches to pick up his 15th save of the season, striking out 2 Rays.

Rick Porcello pitched 6 strong innings for the Red Sox, allowing 3 runs, all earned, giving up 9 hits, walking 1 and striking out 5. Alexei Ogando pitched 1/3 of an inning, for the win, getting the 3rd out in the 9th inning. With two on, and the winning run at 3rd, Ogando got Joey Butler to fly out to Jackie Bradley Jr. in right field to keep the game tied.

The Red Sox are now 8 games out of first place, with a 33-42 record. They play the Rays Saturday afternoon at 4:05 PM with the pregame starting at 3:35 PM on AM 1370 WDEA. Wade Miley will pitch for the Red Sox.
