The Boston Red Sox improved to 4-2 to start the season after beating the Oakland A's Tuesday night, 5-4 in 11 innings.

Brayan Bello allowed 5 hits and 4 runs in 5 innings, striking out 6 and walking 1. But from there, the bullpen combined for 6.0 innings of 2 hits shutout baseball. Josh Winckowski came on and pitched the 10th and 11th inning, striking out 3 and walking 1 to pick up his first win of the season.

Boston outhit Oakland 12-7

Trevor Story had a pair of doubles, going 3-5 on the night, and driving in 2 runs.

Jarren Duran, leading ouff was 2-3 with a run batted in. He stole his 6th base of the season, in 6 games for the Red Sox.

Ceddanne Rafaela was hitless but flashed the leather in centerfield, including this run-preventing catch in the 11th inning, with 1 out and the Red Sox up 5-4 and a runner on 2nd base.

The Red Sox and A's will conclude their 3-game series on Wednesday afternoon, April 3rd. Nick Pivetta, 0-1 will take the mound for Boston against Ross Stripling for the A's. The pregame starts at 2:37 with the 1st pitch at 3:37 p.m. on AM 1370 WDEA.
