The MDI Trojans went on the road Tuesday night, to travel down to the #1 Class B seed, Yarmouth. Here's Coach Corey's take on that game

Yesterday we wanted to test our team against a strong all-around group.  We also wanted to do it on the road, as that is one of the things upon which we need to improve.  What better way to apply pressure and stress than to make back-to-back trips to southern Maine?  After getting back late from Cony on Monday night, the girls hopped back on the bus Tuesday to head even farther south.  It’s not something we would do normally, but we wanted to really push the girls to see how they would respond to that kind of stress. And respond they did.  They came out playing strong.  They took two of the first three sets, losing a close second game, on solid offense and very strong serving.  I tried a few different things in the fourth set and Yarmouth took that one to tie it up.  We got everyone into the fifth set with Yarmouth taking a large lead.  Our girls battled back to make it close but the Clippers edged us in the end.  Yarmouth played us tough, which is what I was hoping for; they served hard, passed well and had good offense.  They have several girls that can swing and block which is what we needed to play against.  Our girls had a lot of fun, and more than played up to the challenge.  It was a good test, especially on the road.  Well worth the trip.

WDEA's Chris Popper spoke with Coach Corey Wednesday morning, to get his take on the Cony game, the Yarmouth game, and his thoughts on who the Trojans would rather play, Kennebunk or Ellsworth.
