MDI Rallies to Beat Ellsworth 7-3 [PHOTOS]

The MDI Trojans were trailing 3-2 in the bottom of the 5th inning when Mackenzie Dyer came to the plate with the bases load and doubled on a 0-1 count, clearing the bases and driving in 3 runs to give MDI a 7-3 win over Ellsworth on Monday, May 7th in Bar Harbor.

Lindsey McEachern picked up the win for the Trojans, throwing a complete game allowing 4 hits. She gave up 3 runs, of which 2 ere earned. She struck out 5 and walked 6.

Mackenzie Chipman took the loss for Ellsworth. She gave up 9 hits. Of the 7 runs, 5 were earned. She struck out 10 and walked 3 in 6 innings.

For MDI Hannah Hanscom was 3-3. Mackenzie Dyer and Lindsey McEachern were each 2-3 with a double. Hannah Chamberlain had a double and Ruby Brown had a single. Maddie Neale had a stolen base.

For Ellsworth Katelynn Bagley, Hannah Sargent, Sydney Stevens and Katie Hammer each had a single. Sargent swiped 2 bases and Sara Shea stole 1 base.

MDI is now 3-3 on the season. The Trojans have 4 more games this week. They play at Washington Academy on Tuesday, May 8th at 4:30. They then are home the rest of the week with games on Wednesday and Thursday at 4:30 against GSA and Foxcroft Academy and then Saturday at 12 Noon against John Bapst.

Ellsworth, now 3-3 plays John Bapst at Husson University on Tuesday, May 8th at 4:30 and then plays host to Belfast on Friday, May 11th at 4PM.
