MDI Hall of Fame Class of 2015

MDI High School announced on Friday, the 2015 Hall of Fame Inductees! The Class of 2015 will be inducted during halftime of the homecoming football game against Oceanside on Friday, October 16th. That game along with the half time ceremonies will be broadcast on AM 1370 WDEA and WDEA Internet Radio.

The Class of 2015 include

Lornie Smith - Class of 1985. Participated in football and indoor and outdoor track teams. He was an All Conference football player and captain of the football team his senior year.

Renee Laber - 25 years of service as both a head and assistant coach in the track program. She coached many individual state champions during her career.

Todd Brophy - Class of 1983. He was an All State football player his senior year and captain of the basketball team. He started coaching volleyball in 2001 as the JV coach and became the varsity coach, coaching from 2005-2012. His overall record as the varsity coach was 101-11.

 John Cater - Class of 1960 from Mt. Desert High School. He was a member of three State Basketball Championship Teams. He was also the caaptain of the baseball & basketball teams his junior and senior years.

Gary Allen - Class of 1975.  He was a member of the 1973 State Championship Team for Cross Country. He was Co-Captain of the Cross Country and Outdoor Track Team his senior year. He was a former Cross Country coach for the high school.

Michael Westphal - Class of 1975. He was a member of the 1973 State Championship Cross Country team.  He was Co-Captain of the Cross Country and Outdoor Track team his senior year. He placed fourth in the New England Indoor Track Championships in the 2 mile event.
