The MDI Girls Soccer Team beat Ellsworth 2-1 on Senior Recognition Night in Bar Harbor on Tuesday, October 17th in the final regular game of the season. Daisy Granholm scored both of MDI's goals while Sierra Andrews scored for the Eagles.

Granholm scored with 9 minutes elapsed in the game (31:02) when she intercepted an Eagle goal kick and made her way to goal and scored from 10 yards out in the right corner. MDI led 1-0 at the end of the 1st Half.

The Eagles started the 2nd Half strong by getting a couple good looks at goal and were rewarded at the 29:52 mark. Sierra Andrews scored the equalizer for the Eagles when she fired in a shot up over MDI's Hannah Goodwin.

With 17:04 reamaining in the game, Granholm scored the game winning goal when she dribbled her way and beat a few highly contested Eagle defenders and a charging Eagle goalie, Kylie Robidoux before slotting the ball  into the back of the net.

Hannah Goodwin made 9 save for the Trojans while Kylie Robidoux had 5 saves for Ellsworth.

MDI finishes the regular season with a 7-6-1 record and will likely play a prelim game against the John Bapst Crusaders.

Ellsworth finishes the season with a record of 3-10-1 and showed marked improvement over previous years.
