The MDI Soccer teams played host to Hermon on Saturday afternoon, September 3rd in the first soccer games of the season. The MDI Boy's Team tied with Hermon 1-1 while the Girl's Team lost to the Hawks 6-0.

In the Boy's game, MDI took a 1-0 lead with 35:56 left in the 1st Half when Avery Lavelle scored, with an assist from Joe Grubb. Hermon tied the game, less than 3 minutes later, and the two teams failed to score during the rest of regulation and two 5 minute overtime periods. The final 1-1

MDI 0-0-1 will travel to Caribou on Monday, Labor Day, September 5th to play the Vikings at 3 PM.

Hermon 0-0-1 will play John Bapst at the University of Maine on Monday, Labor Day, September 5th at 4 PM.

In the Girl's game, Alex Allain scored a hat trick (3 goals) and had an assist to lead the Hawks to a 6-0 win over MDI.

At the end of the 1st Half Hermon was up 4-0 as OIivia Nash scored twice, Allain scored once and Olivia Tardie scored as well.

In the 2nd Half , Allain netted 2 goals for the hat trick. Allison Treat and Emily Smith each had an assist for Hermon.

In goal, MDI's Cassia Barnes made 5 saves on 17 shots, while Megan Chamberlain made 7 saves on 14 shots for Hermon.

MDI 0-1 will travel to Caribou on Monday, Labor Day, September 5th to play the Vikings at 1 PM.

Hermon 1-0 will play John Bapst at the University of Maine on Monday, Labor Day, September 5th at 10 AM.
